Nitro Youth

The meaning of Nitro is interesting to say the least. The word was first used around the year 1881. It means to be a part of a group that is united with one. For the “NITRO” Youth group at Ebenezer, we believe there is only one God, we worship one God, we serve one God, We as a group desire to unite our hearts with this God. Our purpose is to understand the importance of having a personal relationship with JESUS CHRIST, becoming a reflection of JESUS CHRIST to others, and to share the love of JESUS CHRIST with our family, friends and others.

What Do We Do???

We keep busy by offering the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities. Here are some of the things we have done:
Destination Unknown: Everyone shows up and the only one that knows where we are going and what we will be doing is Chip. It could be a scavenger hunt, mini golf, activities in the home of a church family, or just about anything.
Day trips: These trips have included Cabela’s, shopping outlets, mini golf in Gettysburg, sky zone, corn maze, and others.
Big MAC Winter Slam: A February weekend retreat with several other youth groups in the mountains of western PA. The experience includes connecting with god, worship, and lots of fun activities.
Planet Wisdom: This is a discipleship weekend just south of D.C. Incredible spiritual growth and worship with some shopping thrown in.
Mission Trips: Following God’s leading, we have been to “Joy of Living Camp”, in Ohio, “Laurel Mission”, in Kentucky, Cherokee, N.C. and traveled to Poland and Haiti. Each year, we plan a trip, it may be in the united states or an international opportunity.
Local Missions: We are active in the local area. Working for congregation members, local camps, Christmas caroling, packing shoeboxes for operation Christmas child, and presenting dramas are all part of nitro youth ministry.
“THE CONNECTION” Our Quarterly Newsletter: Stay Tuned!
Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of GOD’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to GOD—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what GOD’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Missions Commission

In Matthew 28:19 Jesus says “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” We are commanded to go and make disciples. The Mission Commission supports several missions each year. Our HelpingStone Missions receive annual financial support from our commission. We have sent our own people on mission trips locally within the U.S. and internationally to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
The missions commission here at Ebenezer is very active. We support mission trips from our church for youth and adults. There are many opportunities that we take to minister to our own congregation and well as to the local community and into the world.
Missions Commission financially supports these missionaries and missions through Helping Stone Missions.
